Xolani Koloza
Learner Representative, Nazeema Isaacs Library Xolani is a grade 11 learner who joined IkamvaYouth in 2005 when he participated in the e-literacy programme. He joined because he noticed that learners who were in grade 12 at IkamvaYouth passed well and are now in tertiary institutions because of IkamvaYouth. Xolani is a learner representative who is responsible for checking in with the other learners, and taking their suggestions and complaints to the management committee. He also collects attendance data, and checks that learners are attending regularly. Xolani joined in 2005 when he was in grade 10. He participated in the Last in the 2005 Lego Leage team at UCT with some IkamvaYouth volunteers. They made robots and received medals for coming 5th. Xolani is a talented poet, as well as a ballroom and latin american dancer. His plans for the future include studying IT and establishing his own IT Centre in a container whereby he aims to decrease unemployment in his community.
