Who would have thought that an unfunded organization can make a huge difference?
Did you know an unfunded organization can produce good services?
IkamvaYouth is the answer. IkamvaYouth is improving our results. You attend three days per week, you watch educational videos, and you practice computers in the lab. You get assistance with applying for bursaries and tertiary institutions. You get information about careers.
Axola Qayi improved from an E to an A in Maths. Funeka Kalawe's hard work and commitment at Ikamva made her move from an F to an A in Maths. Her Physics, English and Biology marks also improved a lot. Lungani moved from a C to a B in Maths, and IkamvaYouth has helped him to gain confidence to take Maths on Higher Grade. Ntando used to get a D for Biology, but now he gets As and Bs.
The volunteers have been so supportive in many ways; such as that they encourage us to work as hard as we can. They always teach us about the importance of the future. They help us to prepare for exams. Ikamva volunteers believe learners have the ability to make it.
First of all we didn't know the difference between Higher Grade (HG) and Standard Grade (SG) but as we became the attenders at Ikamva they made us know the difference. Ikamva emphasizes the importance of HG and helps us to understand that it is important for getting into universities. Being exposed to English speaking helps us to improve. Ntando says "before I joined IkamvaYouth my English was very bad, but now I'm getting better and better." This is a call to this year's Grade 10's. We advise you to attend IkamvaYouth when you are in Grade 11. Because IkamvaYouth is your answer. It can make a huge difference in your future. So don't waste time because Ikamva Lisezandleni Zethu!
